Atmospheric Observation

Observation CSV Quality Check

Inspect a local observation CSV for missing values, duplicate or unordered UTC times and range flags.

Use this tool

Preparing interactive controls…

Paste CSV or open a local file. Nothing is uploaded or stored. Limit: 1 MB and 1,000 data rows. Changes recalculate the report; keep a copy of your original data.

Unit-bearing headers are required. Range and completeness checks cannot detect every mislabeled unit or establish instrument accuracy. Data is never auto-corrected.

Introduction & principle

Required headers define units: time_utc,temp_c,rh_percent,pressure_hpa. Screening ranges: −90–60°C, 0–100% RH, 300–1100 hPa. These checks cannot establish instrument accuracy, infer intended units or fix source data. Additional columns are ignored.

Worked example

The example intentionally repeats 09:00Z, includes 105% RH and omits one pressure value. All three conditions are flagged with their CSV record number (header is record 1; empty lines are ignored).

Detailed usage guide
  1. 1Paste CSV or select a local file (under 1 MB, at most 1,000 data rows). No file is uploaded.
  2. 2Use the required unit-bearing headers; quote cells containing commas.
  3. 3Review every flagged row. Export the JSON report if useful; the original CSV is unchanged.
Common problems & FAQ

Does a clean result prove the data is correct?

No. Clean means only that the configured checks found no flags. A plausible Fahrenheit value mislabeled as Celsius may still pass. Verify units, exposure and instruments independently.
